A Coach Approach to Leadership
This workshop examines how leaders and managers can bring a COACH Approach to their day-to-day work. You will learn how to use the GROW (Goal, Reality, Opportunity, Way Forward) model of coaching and will experience coaching first-hand, both by being coached and by coaching others. This workshop will provide you the opportunity to practice using a curiosity-based style of interactions, building confidence and comfortability in your coaching abilities. Over six months, you will be given copious hours of coaching practice, personal feedback and encouragement, and the tools and resources needed to increase your understanding of what a coach approach to leadership is.
In the face of rapid, disruptive change, companies are realizing that managers can’t be expected to have all the answers. Because of this, command-and-control leadership has been exchanged for a coaching model in which managers facilitate problem solving and encourage employees’ development. Leaders and managers now offer support and guidance rather than give orders and make judgements.
